Photo taken of Palo Duro Canyon State Park. This is a canyon system of the Caprock Escarpment located in the Texas Panhandle near the city of Amarillo, Texas, United States. As the second largest canyon in the United States, it is roughly 60 mi long and has an average width of 6 mi but reaches a width of 20 mi at places. Its depth is around 820 ft . Palo Duro Canyon (from the Spanish meaning "hard wood") has been named "The Grand Canyon of Texas" both for its size and for its dramatic geological features, including the multicolored layers of rock and steep mesa walls similar to those in the Grand Canyon.

Hi and welcome to my website! I live in Round Rock, Texas, which is north of Austin, Texas. I have sold images of Western art, pets and other animals, cityscapes, trains, travel pics, flowers and art deco images. I have been making my own greeting cards for a few years but I especially enjoy taking my original photos and merging with textures to form amazing digital artwork. **All images are original to, and sole ownership of Janette C. Boyd and may not be reproduced for any reason without written permission from the author.**

Thank you, Jens, for the feature. I missed when this was featured in your group, "All Natural Scenery".
